Cognitive Behavioral
Passionate About Healing
It has been my privilege to be invited into the lives of some of the finest people I have ever known, my clients.
Helping you find your way through difficult times and confusing circumstances is my specialty and my calling. To offer you a supportive and encouraging voice as you face life's challenges is my mission and I strive each session to get to know you, support you and move you through the trials you encounter be it separation, divorce, career change, addiction, illness, depression, grief or anxiety. Each client is unique and comes to therapy with different needs, goals and histories. There is no one approach to psychotherapy. Therefore, my theoretical approach is eclectic and incorporates Cognitive, Cognitive-Behavioral, Psycho-developmental, Existential, and Person-Centered ideas and techniques. I typically employ a mindfulness based, present-moment, cognitively-focused approach that can be adapted to deal with historical traumas and family of origin issues as well as current problems. I am professionally trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Evidence-Based Practices, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy. I have extensive expertise in treating anxiety and depressive disorders and am comfortable collaborating with client's physicians, who may be prescribing current psychotropic medications, and any other providers upon whom you rely. I have expertise in psychological assessment and have evaluated a diverse array of cognitive, personality, and career/vocational issues. I have considerable experience with issues related to addictions and dual-diagnosis and can offer you support for, and facilitation of, 12-step and other models of recovery.
